Another Successful Clean Up!

Thank you for all the neighbors who came out today to help with our neighborhood clean up. There was a great turn out!

Spring Clean Up 2022!

Please join us on Saturday, May 14th at 10 A.M. (rain date: Sunday, May 15th at 10 A.M.) to pick up trash along our neighborhood streets and sidewalks.

Trash bags will be available at 410 Spencer Road for use. Filled bags can be dropped off in the 400 block at the sign posted. Please collect only road-side debris; don’t include your household trash or garbage.

Come join your neighbors as we work to make this a better community for us all!

Another Successful Neighborhood Clean-Up

Ithaca Police Department members assisting with clean up

Many thanks to all those who helped with the clean-up of our neighborhood last weekend. Because of our work, our community looks better than it has since before the pandemic started. As things return to normal, we will again plan on having our clean-up events twice a year in the hope that we can maintain the progress we made today.

Special thanks are due to the members of the Ithaca Police Department who helped out last Saturday, many after working the night shift. Your efforts in gathering and hauling away two years’ work of debris were much appreciated!

Thanks also to our Common Council representatives, George McGonigal and Cynthia Brock. Your trash collection skills and continuing support of our neighborhood mean a lot.

For those who were unable to participate, you will have another chance in the Fall. We will hope to see you then.

Neighborhood Clean-Up: May 15th

In the past, we would do our neighborhood clean up in small groups, but due to social distancing, this year’s clean up will be done as an “on your own” event on May 15th. Please gather any street, curb, and ditch trash in the area near your part of the street. All trash can be placed in black trash bags and dropped off at 415 Spencer Rd (by the stone wall near the fire hydrant) on May 15th. No household or personal garbage should be dropped off, only collected street garbage.

Please take proper safety precautions.

  • Bring work gloves if you have them
  • You will need to provide your own garbage bag this year
  • Reflective safety vests available for borrow (contact neighbor Jean – see email on Spencer Rd mailing list for details)

Thank you for doing your part to keep our neighborhood clean and beautiful!
