Please join us for our next meeting on Sunday, 11/19 at 10:00am at Panera’s on Rt. 13. We will be discussing what to ask for in the Sustainable Tompkins mini-grant for 2018 and would love to get as much input as possible.
Our second annual neighborhood block party will be Sunday, August 13th. Food (burgers, veggie burgers, etc.) will be available for all to enjoy. We are planning on having music and other things to see/do.
We are slated to be holding this on the 400 block of Spencer Rd. Look for our neighbor Claudia who will be collecting the signatures to make this happen!
There will be a planning meeting for the Block Party on Sunday, July 16th at 10am at Panera on South Meadow St. All are welcome to attend!
The next Spencer Road Neighborhood Association meeting will be Sunday, June 25th at 10am at Panera (on South Meadow St in Ithaca). All neighbors are welcome to attend!
Discussion topics will be: neighborhood watch, block party updates, plus any other concerns/comments/announcements neighbors have.
The Spencer Road Neighborhood Association will hold its April meeting on Sunday, April 23rd at 10am at Panera Bread on South Meadow Street.
Save the date! Saturday, May 13th we are planning our third annual neighborhood clean up. Watch your mail for a postcard annoucement, or come to the April 23rd meeting to help plan.
The South Hill Civic Association and the Spencer Road Neighborhood Association will be having a joint meeting Saturday, February 4th at 9:30am. It will be held at the South Hill Elementary School at 520 Hudson St in Ithaca. (Please go to the front door of the school and ring the bell to be let in – the door will be closed.) At the meeting, we will be discussing the Chainworks District, and traffic/sidewalk issues (including the approved plan to dead-end Spencer Rd at the Spencer Rd/Stone Quarry Rd intersection).
The Spencer Road Neighborhood Association will be holding a meeting Sunday, March 19th at 10:00am at Panera (748 South Meadow St in Ithaca) to plan for our spring neighborhood clean-up (tentatively scheduled for May).
The Spencer Rd Neighborhood Association (SRNA) has received a grant of $200 for the purpose of mailing out postcards to inform the neighborhood of our twice-a-year road clean-up efforts, and purchase some safety and other equipment for the clean-ups. The grant was awarded by Sustainable Tompkins.
We will meet on Sunday, Jan. 15 at 10:00 AM to discuss setting up a bank account for SRNA (which requires registering an EIN for our organization- a one time cost of $75 – we will take up collections at the meeting) and to discuss what to prioritize with the grant money after the cost of the mailings. Also on the agenda will be taking nominations for officers, and exploring putting together a listing of “services needed and offered” by neighbors to post to our e-mail list.
Neighbors have previously met at Panera on Rt 13 on Sunday mornings at 10am and it has been pretty quiet at that time. We think it would work for up to 10 people, but if more are interested we’ll find a bigger place to meet, so please RSVP by emailing Jennie at firstname.lastname@example.org to give us an idea of how many are interested in attending.
We hope to see you all soon! And if you want to chip in some money but can’t make this meeting, please email Jennie.
